Backyard Birthday Bash

Sunday evening we went to an impromtu birthday bash in the Iannucci's backyard. These pictures are in reverse chronological order. We didnt show up in our underwear and end up clothed. The water table was a hit, but Riley didnt want to be in her wet clothes. It took every bit of my debate/parenting skills to get her to keep her underwear on. It did work out well when the cupcakes came out. Riley devoured a couple in record time. Half of the frosting would have ended up on her shirt if it was on. Erin was excited to begin her terrible twos. Our girls told her how much fun it is to get whatever you want through tantrums.

Future Wonder Pets

This is the tail end of an hour long rescue session. They started by inserting each others names into the Wonder Pets song while taking turns saving each other. In most Wonder Pets episodes, some animal is stuck in a tree or in a bush and needs a creative solution to get out. Then, out of nowhere, the animal's mother shows up after the rescue to thank the Wonder Pets for their efforts. Why these mothers cant help their own kids is beyond me. They must just be lazy.

Hammin It Up

We took a break from laying 10 yds of mulch to take a few porch shots during the rain. It turned into a block party, with 8 kids 4 and under running around. Sanna wasnt too happy that her friend Melissa was sharing the limelight with her. We are still in the midst of a mexican standoff over pooping on the potty. Sanna lets it rip a couple times a day and laughs about it. There was a 30 minute play session today where all their characters had poopy diapers apparently. I let her know that there is no way Jessie poops her pants, but she kept going with the storyline.

School Song

Here is a quick clip of a song the girls picked up at their new school. They chose to insert their beloved Toy Story characters instead of their/their classmates names. The girls break into this song adding random names every couple of hours.

Happy Mother's Day?

On Mother's Day, the girls would like to present this message to the mother they love so much (but not as much as the Wonder Pets apparently). Hidden in this 4 minute rambling are some nice comments about the mother who has put up with nearly a year of the terrible twos times two, changed their many diapers, fed them enjoyable meals three times a day, and run back upstairs ~3 times per night to get something Sanna is certain she needs to sleep through the night.

Photos Du Jour

No big story to tell today, just a quick photo session that yielded some gold (in my biased opinion). Riley was a big diva after her nap today. She is also far less cooperative during photo sessions, so most of my pics are of my little angel Sanna. It should be noted that Sanna is very much a diva in her own way, but enjoys hamming it up for the camera as you can see.

Daddy's Day Out

With Laurin gone for the day, I was free to choose outfits and plan a day full of excitement. In one day, we walked to watch a soccer game, ate at Maxine's Chicken and Waffles, napped for 3.25 hours, went to the park, had a cookout with the neighbors, and watched one Gabba episode. It was nonstop fun. Here are the photographic highlights.

Did You Miss Us? Here is What We Look Like.

Sorry for the time off. We decided to go to England/Scotland and forgot to blog when we came back. Lots happened. The girls had lots of fun with their grandparents/aunts. Riley has been dry for a week as I write this. Sanna currently has a present waiting for me in her pants after I finish typing this. It might be an extra long blog post. The girls have adjusted to their part-time school and actually talk about going there in a positive way now. No more tears at dropoff time either. I will put up some pics from the big easter egg hunt next time. It was a huge success and was called 'the best easter egg hunt ever'. That might have been by me. Laurin is on her way to Louisville to play soccer in a geriatric 6v6 tournament. Lets hope she comes back in one piece. We have a fun weekend of playing outside, watching soccer, and Maxine's Chicken and Waffles. Ill let you know how it goes.

Sorry for the length of time since our last post. Potty training has filled our days/haunted our dreams. More to come.

Christmas Revisited

Grandma and Papa returned from Florida and brought Christmas with them. Most of the gifts the girls received while there were not able to be transported on the flight home. Somehow, Grandma and Papa fit it all in their car and brought it to us. The biggest item was the stuffed Dawson dog from GG and Great Papa, which was approximately double Dawson's actual size. He is Sanna's favorite lounging buddy. Riley likes to give him hugs and kisses.
